Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former mentor Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since that period of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, supported by an improved service.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

He defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
